I'M TIRED

I'm Tired....

Election tired.

Tired of all the phony, of all the fakery,

Of all things politics.

Because it's hard to take one party seriously screaming now at the top of their lungs EBOLA, EBOLA, EBOLA,
while trying to destroy a healthcare plan that's actually working, and an economy that is actually recovering (the numbers bore this out),
while encouraging each and every one of us ISIS will come get us and we all should own guns so our children will be safe in schools.

I'm tired of the other party wanting to get all the money out of politics while
acting the homeless man, begging
pleading
proselytizing
me
for my money
EVERY .....SINGLE .....DAY

So they can put the money into their politics to combat the bigger money
in the other politics. (Studies show more money hardly affects outcome of elections).

I'm dissuaded by a society so built on media sound bytes that the issues are
dumbed down
for everyone into basic 'fors' and 'againsts'
and yet from the polling going on
few people bother to even fact check their own facts;
and understand they are in a media frenzy
a ratings riot,
a money gathering fray
between different sorts of exaggerations.

That while we as a country scream for policies to help us
we at the same time gripe and moan about
the government interfering
while asking them to interfere
but only on the things that affect us indirectly:

Tell a woman what she can do with her body,
tell a man what he can smoke,
but don't take my gun away
force your religion down my throat
and don't dare engage in allowing teachers, and doctors
and the educated people to force me to
vaccinate my child.

I get we're all over-stretched; the poor voter working
maybe two crappy jobs just to pay
for a bad nanny
to watch a child and prevent him
from turning into a gang member, or worse,
an illiterate,
and there is no time to read, no time to re-educate,
no time to investigate.

But there is time to support
a new wave of education.

TV Education
Education about what we see
the mess we're shown
that doesn't separate moral clarity, ethical standards,
and political leanings as long as it generates
$$$$$.

Because when it comes down to it
the idea that someone like Michele Bachmann
still gets air time,
that the buffoonery that surrounds Sarah Palin,
no longer in office, yet still given time to share
her ignorant thoughts while
having beer brawls,
the fact that Chris Matthews and Sean Hannity
have TV shows claiming to provide insight
when they provide blindness.
The fact that hatred like Ann Coulter sells books
and entertainers like Al Franken
thought he was a born political leader and won.

It's all a show.

And I'm tired of the show.

I'm tired.
