WHY ROBIN? WHY?

Why you?

Why?

It's not that we wish anyone would be in such a terrible way as to have committed such a deed, but why you?

You had conquered this before.  You had risen above so many others.  For years the name Robin Williams became synonymous with no two other words in the English language than "COMIC GENIUS".

But it had become synonymous with
other words recently as well: Animal lover.  Father. Friend. Compassionate human being.  Philanthropist.

Now it becomes synonymous with another word - DEPRESSION.

Why wasn't there a way for you to find solace within your own family?

Why wasn't there a place you could vacation where the world would melt away and you could find some inner peace?

Why couldn't one walk down the street to see the recognition in people's faces of how you've touched so many lives have been enough to make you say, 'tomorrow.'

Why is Depression such a hard disease for any of us to understand, even those of us who have suffered through it and fought it for many years?

Why didn't the deaths of the greats in other parts of show business this year, Philip Seymour Hoffman, for instance, ring loud and true so as to remind you that your loss would be untenable?

Why Robin?  Why?

We wish we knew.

We wish we could have helped.

We wish you were still here.

We will never forget you.
