A POEM FOR THESE TIMES
Stay safe, stay clean
Use your washing machines.
Wash your hands as you're told
Avoid big gatherings if you're old
No more sports, no NBA
Just what are the Lakers going to do today?
the baseball season is postponed
No reason to sign players now to be owned
Hockey areas are empty and hollow
The XFL will most certainly follow.
Take care, connect, be present and learn
for this pandemic isn't the worst of concern.
Future ones of worse ilk may come our way,
In your mind, how does our government grade
for protecting its citizens and keeping us safe?
In our greatest country, the United States.
It took just two months for all this to unfold
and it's a full on pandemic yet because we were not told
the truth or given a true sense of danger.
We were told if you're sick, just don't hug a stranger.
Ponder our choices as this all moves ahead
Measures need to move faster to prevent exponential spread.
Who will you trust when your life is on the line?
Consider that it's fortunate it's just 3.4% this time.
"It doesn't affect me, don't tell me what to do!"
Thoughts and prayers might not prevent that number from
including you.
