I don't know how many people know this about me and my wife, but we still watch "FRIENDS." Like, all the time. I think it's our comfort food. These are the silly, white, single, ridiculous people on television you relate to, feel smarter than, and yet completely understand.
You may also know that sometimes I break things down in an incredibly psychological way -- like ridiculously so. I search for patterns of behavior and themes, much like a psychologist does, but with a lot less credential and knowledge, making usually for some bizarre and interesting takes on things.
However, never would I have viewed "Friends" the way David Hopkins did in his blog on Medium today. It is a most interesting take on the sitcom I have loved for a long time, mainly because it does what it is supposed to do, make me laugh. I never thought about it for what it was or could be seen as.
Love to hear what each of you think if you feel like sharing, but in some ways, he has come very cogent points.
